£450,000 Highthorn Community fund from a 15p per tonne contribution, which would be divided into two separate funds:
- £225,000 Highthorn Community fund for local good causes, such as replacement of windows in a community centre, funding new play parks or providing facilities for community groups
- £225,000 for a Skills Fund helping people overcome barriers to work, such as providing funding for protective clothing, transport to work or helping small businesses to take on apprentices
Creation of 7.9km of footpaths, bridleways and cycle paths to encourage healthy lifestyles – that is the equivalent of about the length of 87 football pitches laid end to end!
The Banks Community fund provides support to community groups, voluntary organisations and environmental projects that are charitable, educational, philanthropic or benevolent in purpose and which are located within close proximity of a current or proposed Banks Group development and provide benefit to the local community. Organisations who live near the Highthorn site are currently eligible for up to £5000 of funding. If you are part of, or know, a group that could benefit from this fund right now, please get in touch.
