Developing our managers and senior leaders

The development of our managers is essential to the success of the Banks Group. By investing in managers and senior managers, we aim to enhance knowledge, skills and behaviours which will help towards effective leadership of teams and individuals across the organisation.

Career development

We have a roadmap for employee development, which covers employee resourcing, talent management and development, employee engagement and recognising and rewarding excellence.

We provide development opportunities for our employees through comprehensive learning programmes, ranging from graduate programmes and apprenticeships to core skills, management and senior leadership development, as well as individual educational opportunities.

We’re proud to have an average length of service of eight years (against a national average of around 4.5 years) and a number of our employees have worked with us for over 40 years!

Health and wellbeing support

We’re dedicated to maintaining the health and wellbeing of our people at work. The Banks Group has been awarded the North East Better Health at Work Award for Maintaining Excellence award since 2015, and has qualified health advocates, first aiders and Mental Health First Aiders.
