- Clear Development Path: Starting on site as a Trainee Assistant Site Manager, you will gain hands-on experience whilst working towards a Level 3 and/or higher Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor apprenticeship to further develop your skills and knowledge. In partnership with New College Durham and throughout your apprenticeship programme you will engage in on-the-job training, coursework and assessments attending College 1 day per week. This will support your development on the path to becoming an exceptional Site Manager.

You will be based at our developments throughout the Northeast working alongside assisting and supporting site management. During your apprenticeship you will be required to gain knowledge and understanding of the successful delivery of the development project. Develop in-depth understanding of health, safety and environmental standards, programme, budget, time, quality, design, technical and customer service. You will also assist in building quality and sustainable homes for the future that meet the needs of our customers.
You will work closely with site management, Construction Manager and liaise proactively with the other internal departments i.e sales, marketing and commercial teams as well as externals suppliers and partners to ensure the build programme is achieved.
You will work under the guidance of your course tutor to support your development and progress in conjunction with your line manager and our Learning & Development Manager. Regular communication with the course tutor will be essential to ensure alignment between on-the-job training and academic requirements. You will be expected to attend scheduled reviews and provide updates on your learning, performance, and coursework.
You will spend the majority of your time on site. There may be a requirement for you to attend meetings at Head Office in Meadowfield.
There will be a requirement to attend college/university minimum of one day per week to meet the requirements of the apprenticeship programme.
Essential:
You must have the following:
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 4-9, or, Scottish National 5 (if based in Scotland)
- Plus 1 A Level or 2 AS Levels (40 points) or; BTEC National in a relevant construction/engineering qualification or T-Level or an equivalent qualification
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to our sites.
- A genuine interest in developing your career within Construction and Site Management.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally in a hands-on environment.
- Customer champion – good listener, consistently delivers on their commitments and promises.
- High level of attention to detail, ensuring quality standards and safety requirements are consistently met.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with site teams, contractors, and management.
- A good team player with a positive and professional attitude.
- Eager to learn and develop within the role, taking on feedback and new responsibilities.

Interview Process: If you are shortlisted, we will invite you to a face-to-face interview which will take place week commencing 22 June 2026 at a venue local to our head office in Durham, North East. We will assess your suitability for the role, and take part in activities that will test your skills and allow us to get to know you.
