Materials Controller

In this role you will support the daily operation at the construction site, through the ordering of materials in line with the build programme, the inspection of materials for quality and quantity upon delivery and the management and maintenance of the site stores. You will also help maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment and ensure that all labouring tasks are completed to the highest standard and within the required timescales as requested by site management.
You will be expected to:
- Liaise with Site Management to order materials and supplies in a timely manner in line with Build Programme.
- Inspect the quality and quantity of materials upon delivery.
- Inspect materials stores daily to ensure a good supply of consumable materials.
- Ensure tidiness of materials stores and compound area through daily inspections.
- Liaise with Forklift driver to ensure correct storage of bricks, blocks and roof trusses.
- Ensure materials are transferred to plot to allow timely commencement of work.
- Assist Site Management with Traffic Management within development as build progresses.
- Assist Site Management with daily inspection of plots in build.
- Assist Site Management with ensuring appropriate signage is displayed around site.
- Assist Site Labourer with tidiness of site.
You will work closely site management to ensure the build programme is achieved.
You will spend the majority of your time initially on site at West Rainton site.
ESSENTIAL:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Enthusiastic self-starter able to use initiative whilst working unsupervised
- Experience of working on large volume residential house building sites
- Health and Safety Awareness
- Holds a current appropriate CSCS card
- Experience / competence with IT and ordering systems
DESIRABLE:
- Ability to assess drawings for material quantity purposes
