Plans for a proposed new residential development in a North Yorkshire village have been submitted to North Yorkshire Council for review.
Developer Banks Property is looking to deliver up to 125 homes on a five hectare site to the west of Muston Road in Hunmanby near Filey, which would include a 15 per cent provision of affordable homes and a biodiversity net gain of at least ten per cent.
New areas of public open space and green corridors would be created within the site, with a range of different property types being built to meet different local needs.
Banks Property held a consultation event in the village in early December to introduce its proposals to local people, with members of the project team speaking to dozens of visitors about their plans and collecting feedback on them.
Since then, the team has been working to factor this feedback into the planning application that has now been put forward, which the business expects to come before the Council’s planning committee by the summer.
If it is approved, work could start on site by spring 2028.
Jamilah Hassan, community relations manager at the Banks Group, says: “We were really pleased with the range and volume of positive feedback we had from local people at our consultation last year and are now excited to reach this important project landmark.
“Milk Field will be a high-quality development in which we’re looking to create a range of sustainable, contemporary homes in a location that is well connected to local facilities and that will give more people the opportunity to stay in or move to the area.
“We’ll continue to keep the local community up to date with the project’s progress and hope the members of North Yorkshire Council’s planning committee will be minded to support it when it comes before them later in the year.”
