Wansbeck Road

Creating new family homes in Ashington

Welcome to the Wansbeck Road website where you can learn more about our proposals and register your interest in our proposals. Wansbeck Road is a new proposed residential development on a site on the south western edge of Ashington. It would consist of a range of approximately 190 quality family homes, bungalows and affordable housing. With the reopening of the Northumberland Railway Line and all the recent investment into Northumberland, we believe that developments like this can really help local communities to thrive and help boost the local economy.

Our core value is development with care, so it’s of upmost importance that we listen to your local community to find out what is important to you so that we can shape the development together to ensure that our plans take on board your views. With that in mind we would like to thank everyone who attended our surgery events at Northumberland Age UK & Bothal Cottages Community Centre. It was very important to us that we were able to meet with local residents, answer any questions and ensure that those in the area knew of our proposals.

Both consultation events were fully booked and very informative. Our project team had the opportunity to speak to those closest to the proposed development, and for those who were unable to attend our surgeries, by visiting their homes and speaking with them directly. As a result of the consultation we have updated our FAQ’s page.

Our planning application for Wansbeck Road has now been submitted to Northumberland County Council and the portal is live, you can support our application here or by using the form below. Residents and all those with an interest in our proposal can see the application in full, read through the consultee responses and leave letters of support.

We will keep you updated with where we are with the planning application and the recommendation it gets when assigned to a case officer. If you have any questions/queries or would like to speak with a member of the project team, our feedback form can be found at the bottom of this page.

Supporting your community

We believe in supporting the local communities that host our developments so that you can share in the benefits. Wansbeck Road would bring a wide range of local social, economic and environmental benefits and we really hope that we are able to make our proposal a reality, so that we can bring those to the local community.

Local community groups close to one of our proposed or operational developments may also be eligible to apply for a grant from the Banks Community Fund. Since the fund was set up, we have awarded over £6 million in grants which have benefited over a 1,000 community groups. We were able to help Northern Gymnastics Club CIC with a £5,000 grant to help with installing a new competition standard sprung floor.
We are very excited to have received applications from Ashington’s YMCA & Sea Cadets to name just a few and we are actively looking for more groups that may benefit from our community fund so please get in touch if you think we may be able to help.
