South Seaham
Creating new family homes in South Seaham, County Durham
Banks Property want to share with you our plans for a development of up to 210 dwellings (53 in detail, up to 157 in outline) on a 14-hectare site to the south of Seaham and north of the Seaham garden village. Our proposals look to bring forward a high quality and attractive addition to the Seaham area, north of the A182 and east of the A19. Banks Property plan to build a mix of sustainable houses and bungalows within a sensitively designed development incorporating sustainable features such as air source heat pumps and solar panels along with electric vehicle charging points at every home.

Why South Seaham?
There is both a local and national need for new housing, and South Seaham offers a sustainable and well-connected location to help meet that demand.
The site has been carefully assessed and is considered suitable due to its proximity to existing services, including local schools, community amenities, and nearby towns and the A19.
The development would:
-
Provide new, high-quality family homes, including affordable housing, giving local people a chance to remain living locally and for others to move closer to the east coast of Durham.
-
Offer a range of property types to meet diverse community needs, from first-time buyers to families.
-
Support local shops, schools, and services through increased spending from new residents.
-
Help address housing shortages that otherwise push people to relocate away from their community.
Draft masterplan
Following initial assessments that have been undertaken, a draft site layout has been developed and submitted to Durham County Council.
