Plant Operator – Mining

Operate the allocated plant machinery:  

• Operate the machinery in a safe, responsible and efficient manner.
• Ensure that all checks, defects and malfunctions are correctly reported using the appropriate company documentation.
• Ensure that your cabin area is kept clean and tidy.
• Only operate plant and equipment that your are trained and licenced to use.
• Will co-operate with and attend relevant training in the efficient operation of the machine.

Ensure a safe working environment:

• The plant operator must follow all safety instructions and site safety protocols at all times.
• The plant operator will be responsible for proper use of the communication devices supplied.
• The plant operator will operate in accordance with the site vehicle rules and work in accordance with the standards set out in the company’s Environmental and Development with Care Policies.
• The plant operator will bring to the attention of the site management team any safety defects or concerns noted during their working day.

Deliver a high standard of operating performance:

• The plant operator will be responsible for the contribution they make towards the weekly production targets through the efficient operation of their machine by: –
  • Being fuel efficient.
  • Being efficient with loads and loading cycles.
  • Effectively communicating and co-operating with the site management team.
  • Effective machine care.

Essential

• Experience of operating large plant machinery

Desirable

• NPORS card
• CPCS/CSCS card

• Safety and environmental awareness.
• Previous experience as a Plant Operator working in a Quarry would be highly beneficial.
• Flexible and able to work as part of an efficient team.
• Able to effectively communicate using the communication devises issued.
