- Working both independently and as part of the Yorkshire team, to identify new development opportunities across the Yorkshire region and beyond, this will include travel to a variety of locations.
- Assess the new business opportunities introduced by the wider business teams.
- To research BPL and BHL projects to enable the preparation of internal key decision documents. This will involve preparation of the original development concept, identifying and approaching landowners and agreeing site negotiation strategies with the business teams.
- To develop and maintain a clear appreciation for the geographical, planning, technical and political factors that will affect the outcome of relevant projects.
- To develop an understanding of the local authority areas in which relevant projects are located, with particular regard to market areas, political landscape and local plan timetable. This will include building relationships with local stakeholders in communities, local government and landowners.
- Maintain relationships with landowners and agents of existing or new BPL and BHL projects by providing regular written updates and attending meetings.
- Ensure that all projects meet the parameters set in the Business Plan, specifically to make sure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Liaise with landowners, agents and solicitors to ensure that agreements and/or contractual responsibilities are continually progressed to completion within the Business Plan Programme.
- Ensure compliance with the Banks Quality Project Management system where appropriate to the delivery of your key job tasks. Ensure that all projects being managed have an up to date Health and Safety Plan in accordance with the H&S Management System.
Contact will be with BPL and BHL team members, with regular exposure to external parties as described above. You will need to maintain professional relationships with all external stakeholders, and build a appropriate professional network to ensure that expert advice or research can be acquired in a cost effective and timely manner.
You will spend your time between working from the Yorkshire Office, meetings at Head Office and a regular requirement to visit targeted sites to meet landowners or their representatives, sometimes at short notice.
ESSENTIAL:
- A recent graduate (or soon to be graduate) with a minimum 2:1 degree; ideally in a related discipline of Surveying, Real Estate, Agriculture or Construction.
- An active awareness and interest in property development and the built environment.
- Resilient and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communications skills, both verbally and writing.
- Be able to build strong working relationships
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills to achieve desired outcomes both internally and externally.
- Full UK driving licence is essential due to travel requirement across the North of England.

- Ideally studied or currently studying a RICS or RTPI accredited degree.
