Site status: Operational. Planning permission was granted by Darlington Borough Council planning committee on 19 October 2011. The decision issued was 30 January 2012. Construction work began in late 2016. The main construction work for the wind farm was completed by the end of 2017. The wind farm began supplying renewable energy to the National Grid in January 2018

Moor House Wind Farm Community Fund

The Moor House Wind Farm Community Fund is now supporting groups and organisations local to the wind farm and benefits from three funding streams. The first fund of £50,000 can be used for projects to improve the energy efficiency of local community buildings as well as micro-renewable projects. The second fund is a £15,000 annual community benefits fund for traditional grant giving. The third fund which is also £15,000 can be used to support training and educational needs for people within the eligible areas. A site liaison committee is established and regular meetings are being held. Members of the liaison committee include representatives of the local community and local councillors and is chaired independently by a member of the liaison committee.
