Our plans

The original Lethans Wind Farm was granted consent in March 2018. Due to considerable change in the onshore wind market it is now vital that onshore wind farms maximise their efficiency in order that they can provide low cost, low carbon electricity to energy consumers and so larger and more productive turbines need to be considered.

In June 2019, Banks Renewables submitted a Section 36 planning application to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents and Deployment Unit (ECDU) seeking to increase the height of the turbines and the length of rotor diameter, and refine the layout to maximise Lethans wind farm’s efficiency. This application was granted approval in June 2020.

The full planning application can be found here.
