History: Heysham South Wind Farm consists of three 125 metre-to-tip turbines supplied by Nordex. Cheetham Hill Construction began the construction of the site in August 2014. All three turbines have been fully operational and generating clean electricity since April 2015.

The Heysham South Wind Farm Community Fund will receive £10,000 each year which is allocated by representatives from the liaison committee as well as the councillors for the ward and is now available for local groups to apply to. An additional £50,000 is also available specifically for small renewable energy or energy efficiency projects to local community buildings.
