History
The site is currently mostly undeveloped agricultural land. Castle Hill Farm buildings exist on part of the site to the east of Whinney Lane. The site has been identified for development as part of the emerging HBC Local Plan. The site is subject to a draft allocation for housing development, and the site to the west is identified as part of a wider mixed use allocation for housing and some employment

Project description
The site is subject to a draft allocation for housing development as part of the Local Plan process. Once the plan has been adopted, Banks Property will look to apply for planning permission for residential development. The site to the east will come forward as part of an allocation for 183 homes (sometimes called “units” in technical documents), and the site to the west will be developed as part of an allocation for 690 homes and 8ha of employment land
