The riverside site formerly had a foundry on it and the Teesside Development Corporation 1987 to 1998 extracted clay from the site.

Project description

  • Banks Property gained planning permission on the site to regenerate the area with a mix of family homes, offices, car showrooms, retail, community facilities, recreation and a nature reserve. This important regeneration project has been split into two main phases so far
  • Phase one involved the building of around 250 much needed new homes, children’s nursery and office buildings and the large (15 hectares or about 24 football pitches) wildlife reserve.
  • Phase two will involve the building of around another 250 much needed homes, shop units and community facilities
  • Further phases are being worked upon in close conjunction with the local authority, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council and a number of landowners
