28 February 2019 – Banks Mining and Ibstock Brick submitted a planning application to Newcastle City Council

Newcastle City Council’s 21 day consultation period begins

August 2019 – Newcastle City Council made an EIA Reg 22 Request, requesting further information. Banks Mining will submit further information in response to this request

November 2019 – Further Environmental Information submitted in response to the EIA Reg 22 Request

February 2020 – Newcastle City Council’s consultation on the Further Environmental Information closed

December 2020 – application refused by Newcastle City Council

Winter/Spring 2021 – Banks Mining and Ibstock Brick consider whether to pursue an appeal against the refusal
