Restoration
Banks Mining’s restored Delhi surface coal mine is a restored surface coal mining site near Cramlington, Northumberland on the Blagdon Estate. Banks Mining extracted coal from this site between 2003 and 2009. Historic photographs and plans were used to develop the restoration concept which recreates historic features that had been lost over the years. These plans were developed in conjunction with local residents, Northumberland County Council, Castle Morpeth Borough Council (as was), English Heritage and Blagdon Estate.
