An opportunity has arisen for a plant mechanic to join the company’s plant division based at our Shotton surface mine in Cramlington, see:

Reporting to the plant maintenance supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection and repairs to a variety of plant machinery. This will be done in a safe, efficient and responsible manner to achieve all plant department targets and objectives.

Applications are invited from candidates who have an NVQ level 3 in plant maintenance or equivalent as well as a comprehensive understanding of industry best practices, technical and diagnostic skills. You will be required to pin point the root cause of defects and eliminate problems quickly and efficiently. You will have exceptional mechanical knowledge, experience and dexterity along with excellent attention to detail. You will be organised and self-disciplined as well as safety and environmentally aware. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and must hold a full clean driving licence.
