Reporting to the transport manager the successful candidate will be responsible for providing a first class transport service by operating a heavy goods vehicle in a safe, responsible and efficient manner to achieve all transport department targets and objectives.
The work will include transporting various pieces of plant / machinery between our mining sites as well as working for external customers. This will at times involve working with a second man, private and / or police escort vehicle. We operate a single shift pattern Monday to Friday (normally 07:00 to 15:30hrs) but additional overtime will normally be required as will spending nights in the vehicle.
Applicants are invited from candidates who have a C+E Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) licence together with comprehensive experience in operating both a low loader and step frame trailers. You must hold the appropriate level Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) driving qualification and be trained in loading and securing plant/equipment. You will be organised and self-disciplined together with being safety and environmentally aware as well as having strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to follow notified routes.
