DEVELOPMENT PLANNER, HAMILTON OFFICE, SCOTLAND
The Banks Group develops, with care, land for a variety of uses including surface coal mining; property and renewable energy. It is a family owned, County Durham based, business employing over 300 people across Scotland and the north of England.
We have an exciting opportunity for a development planner to join our planning team based in Hamilton. You will be working closely with our mining, renewable energy and property business teams and you will help to shape and deliver new projects as part of our planned growth in these areas.
You will be required to provide planning advice; assist in identifying suitable new sites; develop planning strategies; co-ordinate and prepare planning applications and environmental assessments and develop lasting relationships with local authorities, stakeholders and local communities. You will also be required to manage consultants, and, when required, coordinate and present evidence at public inquiries.

The position would ideally suit someone educated to degree level or equivalent with qualifications in town and country planning, and two to three years experience-ideally with some local authority development management activity in renewable energy, minerals, waste management or large scale property development.
