An opportunity has arisen for a Stepframe Low Loader Driver to join the company’s transport division based at our Thrislington Depot in West Cornforth. Banks Brothers Transport is part of the Banks Group which has over 40 years’ experience in surface mining with an excellent reputation for the innovative and successful design, development and operation of sites through our development with care approach. Our fleet of vehicles enable us to transport goods safely, responsibly and efficiently.
Responsible for providing a first class transport service by operating a heavy goods vehicle in a safe, responsible and efficient manner to achieve all transport department targets and objectives.
The work will include transporting plant / machinery between our mining sites as well as working for external customers. This will at times involve working with a second man, private and / or police escort vehicle. We operate a single shift pattern Monday to Friday (normally 0700 to 1530). Additional overtime will normally be required as will spending nights in the vehicle. The position will report to the Transport Manager.
You will spend the vast majority of your working day on a surface mine and customer delivery sites transporting products.
Applicants are invited from candidates who have a C+E HGV licence together with comprehensive experience in operating a Step Frame Low Loader. You must hold the appropriate level CPC driving qualification, valid digital tachograph and be trained in loading and securing plant/equipment. You will be organised and self-disciplined together with being safety and environmentally aware as well as having strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to follow notified routes.
