The latest progress around a proposed new residential development to the south of Barton-upon-Humber will be under discussion at an online consultation event for local residents later this month.
Banks Property is bringing forward proposals for a 25-hectare site to the east of the A15 and south of Horkstow Road which would include a mix of up to 400 high-quality homes of different sizes and types, including affordable housing.
The plans for the site also include additional accessible areas of public open space, as well as new footpaths, wetland areas, wildlife habitats and local road links.
The family firm has been out in the community over the last few weeks, speaking to local people about its plans, and also set up a digital survey to introduce the project more widely and to enable local people to provide initial feedback about it.
As part of the next stage of its community consultation work, Banks will now be hosting an online forum from 6.30pm on Monday 23 August at which they will provide an update on the latest project developments and taking questions.
Banks Property has also set up a dedicated web page containing key information about its plans and it enables local people to get in touch with their queries or comments.
The planning application is expected to be submitted to North Lincolnshire Council later this year.
Part of family business The Banks Group, Banks Property has developed brownfield and greenfield land for commercial and residential property schemes across the north of England and Scotland using their ‘development with care’ approach for more than 30 years.
Jeannie Raine, community relations manager at The Banks Group, says: “Our initial survey has helped us gather dozens of local people’s views about all aspects of the project, including the sorts of community, environmental and transport enhancements they would like to see delivered through the development, and we’re very grateful to all those who took the time to give us their thoughts.
“We’re doing everything we can to make information about our plans available and to enable local people to express their views.
“Our online event will enable everyone to hear directly from our project team about the work they’re undertaking and to question them directly about the planned development.
“We want to design a development at Barton-upon-Humber in consultation with the local community that brings a range of economic, employment, environmental, supply chain and social benefits to the area, and we hope as many people will take the opportunity to find out more about how we’re looking to do so.”
