Family-owned property and energy firm The Banks Group has signed up to provide support for the Hurworth Country Fair for a second consecutive year.
Organised by the Hurworth Community Association, the eighth annual Fair will take place on Saturday 15 September 2018 in the ground of Hurworth Manor, and will feature a wide range of activities, performances and stalls for the whole family to enjoy.
Fairground rides, miniature train rides, a Punch & Judy show and pony rides will be on offer to younger Fair visitors, while dozens of trade and charity stalls will offer a wide variety of goods, services and produce.
There will also be over 70 produce, craft and photographic competition categories for local people to enter on the day.
Tickets for Hurworth Country Fair, which will run from 10.30am to 4pm, cost £4 for adults and £1 for children, with a proportion of the proceeds being donated to St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington.
Around 5,000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s event, which offers free car parking for up to 700 vehicles.
Peter Allan, a member of the Hurworth Community Association and the founder of the very first Country Fair, says: “The Fair attracts thousands of people from right across our region to what is a wonderful location, and we have a huge amount of events and attractions lined up to enter them this year.
“The costs associated with putting on the Fair mean that, without the backing of our supporters, we simply wouldn’t be able to stage it, and we’re pleased to retain The Banks Group on our list of County Durham businesses that help us to fund and put on what is always a memorable day out.”
Lewis Stokes, community relations manager at The Banks Group, adds: “Hurworth Country Fair has become a staple part of the local social calendar, attracting thousands of visitors every year, and as a County Durham-based business, we’re very pleased to be continuing to give our backing to what will be an excellent community event.”
