Banks Property submits plans for high quality residential development at Palmersville

Proposals for a new residential development in a popular part of North Tyneside have been submitted for planning approval by Banks Property.

Banks has put forward plans for 61 two, three and four-bedroom family homes on a 4.5-acre site off Great Lime Road in Palmersville, adjacent to the existing Forest Gate development.

The site would offer a number of different options for both first time buyers and established homeowners, as well as a 25 per cent allocation of affordable housing.

The project has been developed to help meet an acknowledged need for more family housing across North Tyneside, and would help attract new families to the area, as well as providing options for local young people who want to find their own homes close to where they’d grown up.

A public exhibition of the plans was held in November, with feedback gathered from local people being used in the finalisation of the proposals which have now been submitted to North Tyneside Council.

Visitors to the exhibition also suggested a number of local community and environmental projects which might be eligible to apply for financial support from the Banks Community Fund.

Durham-based Banks were the land developers for the original Forest Gate scheme.

“We believe the scheme’s location near to the Cobalt Business Park and other areas of concentrated employment would make it very desirable, and hope that its many merits will be recognised by North Tyneside Council when our application is considered by their planning committee.”
