Construction work is set to start soon on the site of a new South Yorkshire wind farm.
Banks Renewables, part of The Banks Group, will be beginning operations on the Marr wind farm site near Doncaster on Monday 4 April.
The wind farm will be located to the west of junction 37 of the A1M.
When fully operational, the four-turbine scheme will generate up to eight megawatts of electricity.
Construction work is scheduled to take around ten months, with the scheme expected to be up and running early next year.
A community benefits fund will run alongside the windfarm when it is fully operational, and will provide support for local community groups, environmental and voluntary projects to help ensure the Marr Wind Farm provides a long-term positive impact on the area.
Mark Dowdall, environment and community director at The Banks Group says: “Banks Renewables is very pleased to have reached this stage in the wind farm’s development, and will endeavour to carry out the construction work safely, efficiently and responsibly
“We will continue to work closely with the local community to ensure everyone is kept fully up to date with the progress that is being made on site.”
