In 1996 Banks was awarded Investors in People (IIP) status and since then has achieved the year on year improvement in staff development required to maintain its IIP status. Every member of staff has a training and development plan which is monitored every year during an appraisal.
Banks provides high-level health and safety and IT training to all the plant operators at its surface mines.
Staff are also encouraged to further their careers through professional chartered qualifications, degrees and specialist training courses.
