Public exhibition for updated Mount Oswald development plans

Updated proposals for the development of the Mount Oswald Golf Club site in Durham City are set to go on show at a public exhibition next week.

In September last year, the Meadowfield-based Banks Group revealed new plans for the site which include executive housing, high-quality student accommodation which would be located adjacent to Van Mildert College, and a significant amount of new public open spaces.  (more…)

New green infrastructure plans outlined for proposed Mount Oswald development

Plans for environmental improvements that would be made to the Mount Oswald site in Durham City as part of its proposed development have been outlined by the company behind the project. 

The Meadowfield-based Banks Group has developed a ‘green infrastructure plan’ as a central part of the planning application that will be submitted for the scheme later this year. 

Based around the concept of a linear park, the Mount Oswald development would see a number of natural corridors running through the site which open up into a range of different public spaces, which, along with a network of footpaths, would cover more than 17 acres of land across the whole site.  (more…)

Banks says thanks for support of housing plan

Considerate developers have been granted permission to build 141 new homes in Cardenden, creating an exciting addition to the Fife town.

Banks Property was delighted to earn approval from local planners, a move which will see a brown field site transformed into a sustainable and attractive community.

Mount Oswald development plans backed by former Neville’s Cross councillor

A former long-serving Neville’s Cross councillor has backed new proposals for the development of the Mount Oswald site in Durham.

Colin Beswick MBE, who sat on Durham City Council for more than 40 years, has given his support to the updated plans for the site that were revealed recently by the Meadowfield-based Banks Group, which focus primarily on executive housing, but which also include a significant amount of high-quality student accommodation. Banks Group grant helps to fund ‘wheely’ good idea

Teesside-based people with disabilities are now enjoying the freedom of being out on the water thanks to a £5,500 grant from a local developer.

The Banks Group, via its Banks Community Fund, has helped fund the purchase by the Tees Wheelyboat’s Club of a wheelchair-accessible Wheelyboat, which operates from the River Tees Water Sports Centre at Stockton-on-Tees. (more…)

New family homes planned for unique Bowesfield site

Plans for a new residential development at a unique mixed-use site in Stockton have been submitted to the local Borough Council for planning approval.

Roadworks set to start to improve access to evolving Blyth regeneration site

The latest phase of a multi-million pound regeneration scheme in the centre of a Northumberland town is set to get underway this week (w/c 24 October).

North east property development firm Banks Property, part of The Banks Group, and Harworth Estates have been working together for the past four years on the regeneration of 30 acres of land on the sites of the former Bates Colliery, the former Crofton Mill Colliery and the former Morpeth Road School in Blyth. Around 160 people from across Durham attended a public exhibition to find out more about new development proposals for the site of the city’s Mount Oswald Golf Club.

The Meadowfield-based Banks Property recently announced new proposals for the site which encompass executive housing and high-quality student accommodation, and set up an open exhibition at the Lindisfarne Centre in St Aidan’s College to give local people their first look at the outline designs.
