Our modern plant fleet has been developed to enable us work sites safely, responsibly and efficiently, meeting both high environmental standards and challenging production targets.
As a result of a proposed expansion of the company’s surface mining operations an opportunities have arisen for heavy plant mechanics/technicians.
Reporting to the respective site Plant Managers, the successful candidates will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and repair of a large fleet of Caterpillar, O&K / Terex, Komatsu, Volvo mining and support equipment in order to maintain a high level of production and plant availability.
Experience of working with Caterpillar, O&K / Terex, Komatsu, Volvo or similar equipment in a quarry or mining environment is essential.
Working within the company’s health and safety, environmental and quality standards, candidates must be suitably qualified and hold the appropriate certifications in their respective skills or trade:
Required qualifications and experience:
- Completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
- Relevant City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent.
- Heavy plant and equipment dealer experience and familiarity with the latest generation of computerised machine control systems and electro mechanical systems would be a distinct advantage.
- A proven track record within the industry.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- Compliance with all company health safety and environmental policies
- Performing risk assessments prior to work being performed
- Equipment inspections
- Preventative Maintenance tasks
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
- Testing and adjusting
- Component and part removal, installation and commissioning
- Major component disassembly and assembly
- Condition monitoring
- Electronic control module data download and interpretation
- Training and supervision of semi skilled employees and apprentices
- Retrieving technical information from electronic manuals via a Windows based computer terminal
- All work performed must be recorded on the computerised maintenance management system
