Restoration

The woodland area around the pond has been planted with over seven thousand trees. Stone footpaths and bridleways have been constructed linking Pegswood to both Phase 1  and 2 country parks. In the near future a footpath link will also be created through Howburn Wood joining the existing footpath network to Morpeth. The car park has also been constructed as has the amphitheatre to the north east of the site.

Phase two of the country park - why the lake has not filled up as originally intended

During consultations over how to complete the restoration of Phase 2 of the country park, Banks was asked a number of questions about why the lake had not filled up as originally intended.  Subsequently, Banks commissioned a report from Wardell Armstrong on why the lake had not filled up and the options for completing the restoration of the site.  Please see the report below.
